May Day in Torniella!
All day on 1 May the citizens of Torniella provide wine, cheese and many other foods to all who come to see them. This is a fantastic opportunity to get to know the Tuscany of the Tuscans. There is no charge. This is one of the best small festas in Tuscany.
The little mediaeval town of Torniella, dating from the 11 C, is located in the Alta Maremma in the county of Roccastrada, among woods and forests on the border between the provinces of Sienna and Grosseto. The castle of the Ardengheschi, the vassals of the Aldobrandeschi, forms the stronghold of the town.

We offer two vacation apartments situated on Piazza del Popolo, the main square of Torniella. Both apartments are newly restored in tradition style with wooden beamed ceilings and terracotta floors.
Apartment "Castagna" for 2 or 4 guests
This apartment is 60 sqm in area and located on the first floor. It consists of two double rooms, a kitchen and a living room, plus a bathroom with shower. Satellite TV and heating are included. - per day Euro 55 2 persons. - per day Euro 75 4 persons.
- per week Euro 350 for 2 persons. - per week Euro 450 for 4 persons.
Apartment "Porcino" for 2 (+2) guests
This apartment is 60 sqm in area and located on the second floor. It consists of one double room, a kitchen with dishwasher and a living room (35 sq m) with a sofa bed, plus a bathroom with shower. Satellite TV and heating are included. - per day Euro 55 2 persons. - per day Euro 60 4 persons.
- per week Euro 350 for 2 persons. - per week Euro 400 for 4 persons.
Upon request, the two apartments can be merged to provide accommodation for 6 (+2) or more guests.
Parking is readily available in the piazza outside the door. It is possible to rent bicycles for excursions.
There is an excellent restaurant-pizzeria just 30 m away from the front door!
We offer bicycle excursions through the surrounding countryside.
Payment Conditions
We request a 30% deposit paid by bank transfer at the time of confirmation of your reservation. This deposit is forfeited in the case of a cancellation. The balance should be paid upon arrival in cash.
From Florence: take the superstrada Florence-Siena and upon reaching Siena proceed towards Grosseto. Exit at Civitella Marittima and proceed to Roccastrada and then follow the signs for Torniella.
From Rome: take the autostrada A12 for Grosseto, and then continue in the direction of Siena. Exit at Civitella Marittima and proceed to Roccastrada and then follow the signs for Torniella.
